"Stock in the Crock" Wholesome Snacks
This is a go-to snack of mine that I associate with Winter & the Holidays.
+Of course, I have the crockpot going, with it inside a wonderful smelling chicken broth from a leftover carcass I just baked.
+Sprouted Bread (Ezekial brand, or by ur local health food store - even Trader Joes has a 'sprouted' loaf of bread).
=Take a slice of bread, dip in stock (or if too hot, just drizzle some on top ~or even Soak it!). You may add freshly grated pepper. Delicious & Filling snack. (No prep time! As long as u got the stock in the crock going!)
*this helps for the hungry times I am cooking those elaborate holiday meals for hours on end.

Homemade Broth from Turkey-Bone
For our cats we make homemade Raw Food (Chkn,+) and supplement with some Cooked Organic Turkey. So I always have these leftover Turkey Bones. My Grandma showed me what to do with bones; taught me that when I was a little kid :)
I stopped adhering to a strict vegetarian diet (I went Vegan @ 16yrs old, then opted for Pescetarian for many years). My preference in the matter is this:
YES to:
-eggs
-honey
-yogurts,kefirs, soft cheeses
-Broth made from Poultry Bones
-cold water Fish, occasionally.
Of course still no to the big ones like Red Meat (although I've always liked lamb since having it in Ireland)..
Oh yeah, I always choose to let go of my eating style in lieu of a cultural experience :)
Healthy warm Grains
Cooked Quinoa & cooked Brown Rice (short grain).
Douse with homemade broth from Turkey Bones.
Delicious. Especially for cool weather times ;)

Tip the hat to small time Arizona Brewing Company "Four Peaks". I also like "Shiner" from a small-town in Texas. When you have the occasional beer, you want that one to be of great quality!

Bring Quinoa, 1/4 tsp chili powder and 1 cup water to a boil in small saucepan. Cover, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 12-15 mins, or until most liquid is absorbed. Meanwhile, whisk together 2tsps Lime Juice, Oil and remaining 1/4 tsp chili powder in bowl. Add quinoa and toss to coat. Season with Salt & Pepper. Divide Quinoa among glasses. Recipe can be prepared ahead up to this point; Cover and refrigerate up to 24hrs. Dice Avocado, season w/ Salt/Pepper, and toss w/ Tabasco sauce + remaining 1tsp Lime juice.
